The Boston Boy Choir is the performing arts arm of the Boston Archdiocesan
Choir School operated under the auspices of Saint
Paul Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During the school
year, the Choir sings in the classical choral tradition at St. Paul
Church on Sunday at the 11:00 a.m. liturgy, and on most weekdays at
the 8:00 a.m. liturgy. Major choir events at Saint Pauls
include the Christmas concert, performed three times in December,
and the spring concert in May, featuring a major work performed with
orchestra and soloists.
The Boston Boy Choir frequently performs for the community at large.
The boys have sung with the Boston Symphony Orchestra in Symphony
Hall, at Tanglewood, and in Carnegie Hall. The Choir has also
sung with the Boston Pops Orchestra and the Tanglewood Festival Chorus
in Christmas with Pops, programs which have been televised
both locally and nationally.
The Choir has recorded Berlioz Damnation of Faust and
Mahlers Eighth Symphony with the Boston Symphony.
Other works in which the Choir has sung include Mass by Bernstein
and The Magic Flute by Mozart performed with the Opera Company
of Boston, as well as Honnegers Joan of Arc at the Stake,
Puccinis Tosca and Carl Orffs Carmina Burana
with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
In June 2000, the Choir visited Chicago and performed at the Woodstock
Opera House and at St. Wenceslaus Church. The Choir has twice toured
Washington, DC singing at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the
Immaculate Conception, at St. Matthew Cathedral, and at the John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
In Montreal, Quebec, the Choir sang at St. Joseph Oratory, and sang
both the Canadian and American national anthems at a baseball game
between the Montreal Expos and the Atlanta Braves. The Choir
has sung the Star Spangled Banner several times before Red
Sox games at Fenway Park in Boston. (To hear sample & get more information click here)

a concert of new music by Boston composer Julian Wachner, and recorded
selected pieces as part of a demonstration CD for the Bose Corporation.
In November 2002 the Choir sang in a performance of Mahlers
Third Symphony with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra conducted
by Benjamin Zander.
Other groups with which the Choir has performed include the Civic
Symphony Orchestra of Boston, the Boston Classical Orchestra, the
New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, the Concord Chorus, the Boston Baroque,
and university choral groups such as the Harvard University Choir,
